About Sarah Barratt
Sarah Barratt started her career as a gymnast and progressed onto instructing others by becoming a British Amateur Gymnastic Association (BAGA) coach. The 'aerobic scene' hit the UK, bringing with it a whole new career emphasis for many with a dance or gymnastic background. Initially there was no formal recognised qualification in this country so Sarah used her training in gymnastics as a basis for teaching Exercise to Music classes in Gloucester Leisure Centre, Sue Cambridge Workouts at Gloucester Docks and sports clubs. Then all of this became Sarah Barrats Dance Factory. Sarah had a great team of instructors and all of whom went on the latest courses with her, leading the field in aerobic fitness. This led her to working with 'Project 2000', involving giving motivational lectures to nurses with the aim of getting them exercising and also the police and a road safety campaign, encouraging drivers to stop off not to drop off!!
